Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012

This exam is part one of a series of three exams that test the skills and knowledge necessary to implement a core Windows Server 2012 infrastructure in an existing enterprise environment. Passing this exam validates a candidate’s ability to implement and configure Windows Server 2012 core services, such as Active Directory and the networking services. Passing this exam along with the other two exams confirms that a candidate has the skills and knowledge necessary for implementing, managing, maintaining, and provisioning services and infrastructure in a Windows Server 2012 environment.

In preparation for Exam 70-697, this course validates a students fundamental knowledge and skills for building solid identities, protection of content (data loss protection), mobile device management policy, virtualization with Hyper-V, application management using the Company Portal and the Windows Store. Students will be evaluated on Windows 10 security and integrated Azure features.

In addition to their professional experience, students who take this course should already have the following technical knowledge:

  • Experience with Windows desktop administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Basic experience and understanding of Windows networking technologies
  • Introductory-level knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Intune

Students can take this course and Microsoft 70-697 Configuring Windows Devices exam meeting prerequisites by obtaining equivalent knowledge and skills through practical experience as a Windows device support technician or a Windows device system administrator.
